For littering barns of poultry (e.g. broilers, laying hens), materials (straw, wood shavings) are mostly used, where moisture retention capacity varies or is inadequate. However, water / moisture plays a decisive role in the development of various e.g. footpad diseases. Zeolite has a significant moisture binding capacity, so it is suitable for litter conditioning.
Among other beneficial sorption properties of zeolite, the binding capacity of ammonia should be highlighted.
Its use improves the microclimate of stables and houses, i.e. it advantageously changes one of the important elements of the housing technology.
Zeolite products recommended for livestock can be purchased in bags of 25 kg.
