Description
In the case of garden ponds, zeolite has two roles: it can be "sprinkled" on the bottom of the pond or used in a filter container.
Zeolite at the bottom of the lake: : Zeolite can be applied 5-8 cm thick by sprinkling it on the bottom of the lake, thus "pleaseing" our fish: we give them the opportunity to indulge in their "hiding habit" among zeolite stones. The product ensures a continuous supply of trace elements to plants, so the goal here – primarily – is not to bind the formed impurities!
Zeolite in container filter: The water in the pond is circulated through the zeolitic filter barrel with the help of a pump, thus ensuring filtration. We put the zeolite in the filter barrel, which will perform the actual filtration. For a garden pond with medium loads, 5 kg of Klino-Garden zeolite is required to filter 1 cubic meter of water. Although the filter barrel is equipped with a special layer of foam to prevent physical contamination of the zeolite, it is still advisable to clean the zeolite every two weeks, or at least monthly: remove it from the filter and wash off the dirt deposited on its surface with a garden watering hose.
Hanging zeolite in the pond: The efficiency of the containerized filter can be improved by filling the zeolite into a densely woven net, tied to the edge of the pond, and hung in the pond. Such a mesh can be purchased in our webshop.
For garden pond use, zeolite 10-20 mm is recommended, which can be purchased in bags of 25 kg.
When the efficiency of zeolite after purification is low, it needs regeneration. In this case, you need to add 1 kg of table salt to 10 liters of water in a container, and then stir the water until the salt is completely dissolved. The zeolite to be regenerated can then be placed in the vessel. Ensure that the solution completely covers the zeolite to be regenerated. Zeolite is left in the solution for several days. After regeneration, do not pour the solution onto the grass or soil, but wash it into the drain with plenty of water.
