SikoSTOP zeolitic mixture is a dual product with a complex effect. One of its components is mechanical anti-slip zeolite, and the other is the ice-melting agent.
Zeolitic mixture is recommended to use:
- if the goal is to make a continuous ice surface non-slip
- if thaw is expected during the day and temperatures drop below freezing at night
When applying the product, zeolite makes the slippery surface passable, due to the dissolution of the ice melting agent, ice melting begins. During the day, the water formed from the melted ice mixes with the active substance, so the freezing point of the mixture becomes lower than the freezing point of the water, thus hindering the formation of the ice surface.
Note that the mixture formed from the icemelting agent and water may be continuously diluted as it is diluted by rain or snow, until the concentration of the active substance in the mixture becomes so low that it freezes back at the same temperature as the water. To avoid this, we recommend applying the active ingredient WinterSun to keep the freezing point of the mixture as low as possible.
Increasing the active substance content of the mixture to the highest possible level should be avoided because the high content of active ingredients may damage the coating or the environment.
