Based on a European Union direquentor (EC 1810/2005), clinoptilolite of sedimentary origin is authorised as a feed additive. Under this Regulation, clinoptilolite belongs to the group of binders, anti-caking agents and coagulants. It is important to emphasize that this applies only to the mineral clinoptilolite, and not to all zeolites.. Zeolite is the collective name for more than 40 minerals, one of which is clinoptilolite. Another requirement for clinoptilolite is that the mineral is chemically composed of at least 80% clinoptiloliteand must not contain quartz or fibres. Feed zeolite – ZeoFeed – is a multifunctional additive used primarily when feeding fatteners. It is recommended for all foods, primarily chicken, turkey, pork, beef and salmon. ZeoFeed ensures the reduction of load on the animal's body, detoxification, water binding and prevention of mold and spore formation. It also ensures the more effective utilization of the energy value of food and the selective withdrawal of ammonia-containing substances.
According to reports from animal feeding trials, ZeoFeed showed a beneficial effect / favorable economic benefit in the production/production phases of meat chickens (broiler chickens) and laying hens.
